2007 Ice Dreams: So You Think You Can Skate

A Successful Event

2007 Ice Dreams, So You Think You Can Dance, a dinner, live and silent auction and ice show was held on October 19, 2007.  The evening was sold out and all in attendance were thoroughly entertained during the evening by Master of Ceremonies, Danny Hooper.  The Royal Glenora, host venue for the evening, provided a wonderful meal and service was excellent.Following dinner and before desert, everyone in attendance moved to the rink to enjoy the Ice Show, So You Think You Can Skate, which was the highlight of the evening and hosted by Master of Ceremonies, Emanuel Sandhu. Before celebrity judges, Rosemary Marks, Bernard Ford, Bruce Hogle and Bridget Ryan, Erin Isfeld and Matt Williams performed a Disco routine; Anisette Gent and David Hunter performed a Waltz and Ben and Jadene Ferreira performed the Jive.  All in attendance voted for their favorite performance and the winners for the evening were Anisette Gent and Dave Hunter.

Funds Raised

The Ice Dreams sold out evening was a great success.  In excess of $20,000.00 was raised which will be used to assist KidSport Edmonton to ensure that all children are able to participate in sport and recreation regardless of their financial resources; to enable Skate Canada: Alberta – NWT/Nunavut to continue to upgrade and offer programming for everyone who wishes to participate; and to enable the National Ice Theatre of Canada to provide artistic programming to our youth.  The evening also provided another opportunity to introduce Ice Dreams partners, Skate Canada: Alberta – NWT/Nunavut, KidSport Edmonton and the National Ice Theatre of Canada to the corporate, business and government communities.
